Projects

A BIRD A DAY
A daily, creative exploration of dawns, birds, and music. How to make a violin sound like a bird? Or, even more challenging, a cloud-streaked dawn? My main ongoing project, started October 1, 2010. Check out my blog!

SOLDIERS' TALES UNTOLD
A musical-theatrical production mixing Stravinsky’s “L’Histoire du Soldat”, veterans’ stories, and improvised music to create community dialogue about war. Original score, with cast of five narrators and four musicians.

BLUE SKY PROJECT
Blue Sky Project is a community-based artist residency program that partners professional artists with youth artists for an intensive 8-week collaboration. It was a transformative experience for me as a resident artist in 2008, and as program director in 2010. I will be returning this summer 2011 as a Community-Artist-Investigator. Exciting!

ARTICULATION
The craziest ride of a collaboration: poetry-slam meets theatre meets a group of fearless young poet-actors making their own artistic home. I improvise, speak a little, throw in an occasional looping pedal, and generally have a great time pushing my artistic boundaries. A VERY FUN SHOW!

QUIET QUARTET
Improvised music group with Felicity Williams, voice (Toronto); Michael Davidson, vibraphone (Toronto); Matt Plummer, trombone (NYC). Formed in 2007 at the Jazz and Creative Music Workshop in Banff, Canada.
